music autoplaying on your blog: WHY.
i mean, am i the only one who hears something start playing and immediately hits the back button? does everyone else just meekly mute what they were already listening to so they can bask in your musical choices for twelve seconds?
because no one spends enough time on someone else’s blog to hear an entire song. not unless they’re combing your archives, in which case they get to hear the song re-start from the beginning every time they refresh a page.
so essentially, the only one who listens to your blog song is you. and you already have that song. you can just play it on your own computer.
in summary, wtf are you even thinking.
^ this, exactly. The music can be heavenly goodness sung by an angelic choir and it would still piss me off.
I can’t even count how many times I panicked because there were suddenly weird sounds coming from the speakers only to find out that it was caused by autoplayed music from blogs clashing.
And even if I Adblock the shit out of the players and music sources, it’s still not enough and there’s always one I haven’t encountered yet, ready to hit me with delishus musik.

I hate auto-play songs, but I’ll usually just find the mute button. At times when I’ve been looking for someone to fix my computer, I’ve come across such websites and it makes me wonder. Do I really want you near my computer?

They’re definitely not thinking about the reader’s connection speed or processing power, or whether or not the reader already has or wants to have music going. It’s the late 90s all over again, but now with shitty mp3s instead of midis.

I’m the same way. If some other music starts playing over what I already have playing I get kind of panicky, actually. I don’t handle conflicting noise very well.
